The feature of upgrading items allows players to upgrade their equipment. This can be done through any upgrader of items NPC.
Upgrades increase the main stat of an item and add extras depending on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield, for FB Sorcs, or Goldwraps for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is among the main factors that keep Link protected from damage in all situations. Although it isn't upgraded like weapons, you can still enhance its defense capabilities in various ways.
The principle of armour is to protect the person or animal from physical injury or harm in the form of direct physical assault or from various dangers posed by the environment and activities. In the past, armour was primarily made of leather or fabric, but later metal protections were also used, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons, there are a number of ways that armor can be upgraded, however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades available with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection and needing a higher amount of rupees and other materials to unlock.
The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever and after they've been put in place, they cannot be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the highest level of upgrades to your gear and that you have enough of the required materials to complete the upgrade.
You will find the upgrades you require in a variety of places around Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. These will generally be marked with an gold circle or blue triangle, and are available in large quantities as you move through the game. While they may appear randomly, there's an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade elements will trigger quests that reward players with more.

It's essential to prioritize upgrading your best-in-slot items first, followed by those you won't be replacing in the near future. If you're planning on playing an asymmetrical build, for example upgrade your weapon, then your chest and shoulders, then your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. But, depending on your playstyle, some items will be more useful than others. Armour is the same, with certain refining better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one item of magic at a time. If an upgrade project is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for that item will not begin. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the amount of gold it would cost to make or purchase however they may have extra benefits.
A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, but some are also armor, shields, cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other items. Some of these items can be made sentient.
The majority of magic items can be upgraded to become equipped with additional capabilities. This can make them more useful to players or help players overcome difficult situations. An item that is magical can give them an invisible effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are those that don't fall into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and offer various capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, unlike weapons or armor. The majority of utility items have a passive effect which players can activate while using them. Some have additional abilities which are activated by pressing a button or activating the skill.
The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It lights up the area around it. In the Engineering section you can instantly produce several useful items, while others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the normal inventory, players can also obtain additional powerful utility items by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
The majority of utility items provide the player with an advantage in navigation or boost the ability to fight. Sharpening stones, crafted by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity.
